Questions
- What makes a PDF so big?
- Almost always images: a photo pasted in at full camera resolution, pages scanned at 600 dpi. They’re brought down to the resolution the screen or printer can actually use. Text weighs next to nothing and isn’t touched.
- Which level should I pick?
- Recommended suits nearly everything: email, upload portals, office printing. Strong is for squeezing under a strict size limit. Lossless leaves every image as it is.
- Can I still select the text?
- Yes. Only images are recompressed; text, links, bookmarks and form fields stay exactly as they were.
- What if the file doesn’t get smaller?
- It was already well compressed. You get the original back — never a bigger file.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
