Convert PDF to PDF/A
The archiving format many governments, courts and legal deposits require: fonts embedded, colours defined, full metadata, nothing that depends on outside software.
Your files never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded, anywhere.

- Convert, then download the PDF/A.
Questions
- What is PDF/A?
- An ISO standard (19005) for long-term archiving: the file holds everything it needs to look the same decades from now — fonts, colours, metadata — and nothing executable. The tool produces PDF/A-2b, the most requested level.
- Will my document look different?
- It shouldn’t. Standard fonts left unembedded (Helvetica, Arial, Times, Courier) are replaced by Liberation, which has exactly the same character widths, so not a word moves. Scripts, attachments and forbidden actions are removed.
- What if conversion isn’t enough?
- The report says so: a font with no equivalent (Symbol, ZapfDingbats…) can’t be embedded without changing the look. Save the document as PDF/A from the software that made it (Word, LibreOffice) instead.
- A signed PDF?
- Conversion rewrites the file, so its digital signatures would no longer be valid; they are removed. Convert before signing.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No — it all happens in your browser.
