Questions
- Why is text copied out of a PDF so often jumbled?
- A PDF has no paragraphs or lines — just bits of text placed at positions. This tool rebuilds lines, columns, paragraphs and headings from how they sit on the page, rejoins words hyphenated at line ends, and leaves out repeated headers and page numbers.
- What about a scanned PDF?
- Its pages are pictures, so there’s no text to extract. Text recognition (OCR) is coming later.
- What’s Markdown for?
- It’s plain text that keeps the structure — # for headings, - for lists. Paste it straight into a wiki, a notes app or a chat assistant; it reads fine without any special software.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
